A live club recording with Toronto drummer Bobby Rees. A piano/drums duo is unusual, but I have found that in many ways I prefer it to the more traditional trio with bass, for it allows me the harmonic freedom to go anywhere I wish, at any time. Prior to this live recording Bobby and I had not played together in almost a decade. In the true spirit of jazz I simply asked Bobby to show up and play what he hears. Bobby hears a lot, and I'm grateful for his openness and his musicianship.
